The Combat Infantry man's Badge (CIB) is one of the most coveted awards in the Army.  Normally, when you see this worn it means that the individual has been tested under fire, as an infantryman.  Other branches of the Army are not authorized this badge..

The Combat Medic's Badge (CMB) is awarded to medics who have served under fire.  Only one combat badge can be worn and, if given the choice most would choose the CMB.

I arrived in Vietnam on News Year day, 1968.  I was assigned to the Command and Control Detachment of the 5th Special Forces Group. The 5th SFGA was Headquarterd in Nha Trang.  I processed in there and then I was off to Danang, where C&C HQ were located.  I was finally sent to Forward Operational Base #2 (FOB #2) at Kontum.

On this page I will describe the Country, the people, My assignment at FOB #2, my assignment at FOB #3 , and finally my rreturn to FOB # as the Tm. Ldr. of a Special Projects team.
